AS WE APPROACH THE END OF AN EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL 2023, 31 YEARS INTO THE JOURNEY OF GEORGE ROBERTS, WE HAVE CAUSE TO REFLECT ON YET ANOTHER EXCELLENT YEAR IN TERMS OF TRADING ALONG WITH THE CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF OUR COMPANY AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO WHAT WILL BE A CHALLENGING 2024 WITH POSITIVITY, DETERMINATION AND A FULLY STOCKED YARD READY TO SUPPORT CLIENTS OLD AND NEW.
As a business we are extremely proud to be an independent company that, despite its size and status as one of the largest in the UK of its kind, can provide our clients with an industry leading level of service which is based on building strong relationships and an “old school” attitude to flexibility and working in partnership with our clients to achieve a common goal.
When I founded the company in 1992 it was based on the philosophy of keeping a large stockholding of all products to deliver rapidly both nationally & internationally, it is this basic but vital ingredient which is still to this day at the forefront of what we do. Another important part of this is that we remain, and will always do so whilst I am Chairman of the board, a purely hire and sales operation to maintain complete independence and neutrality which enables us to work with clients on major projects with confidentially and trust.
Health & Safety is a key part of the George Roberts brand and something which is a fundamental part of our business. We place great importance upon being able to provide a safe environment for everyone who works on and visits our 16 acre site.
Another constant in our business is a commitment to providing quality assured products.
We have invested heavily in quality control both overseas and on site. We continue to develop and evolve our inspection systems in house to ensure that all products are thoroughly checked before being released for hire or sale to ensure that we can supply onto the most high profile of construction projects with total confidence. As a supplier member of the NASC our products and systems are audited annually to ensure all equipment supplied is monitored and meets the highest standards, additionally, we are also proud members of the Scaffolding Association and are committed to working with all bodies who share our vision to increase safety standards in our industry.
We will be making our annual donations to our chosen Charities in December – We firmly believe in sharing our success to help those less fortunate.
Last, but by no means least, I would like to thank our clients for their business during the past year and look forward to this continuing in 2024. Also, my appreciation goes out to our hard working, loyal employees who continue to work diligently and professionally on a daily basis to provide our clients with the best possible service. The team have constantly delivered all year with office staff dealing with enquiries in a timely and professional manner, drivers getting on the road in the early hours to get to sites first thing and our dedicated yard staff turning around thousands of tonnes of material in some extremely harsh weather conditions. I express my gratitude to each and every member of our team who make the achievements outlined possible.
