Originally designed in conjunction with one of the UK’s largest housebuilders (Taylor Wimpey Plc) to tackle the problematic access and void issues commonly associated with upper floor stairwell areas.
Stairwells are inherently awkward areas to reach given their diminishing tread levels especially in 2 ½ storey house configurations; something which has becoming increasingly popular within the new-build housing sector. The Aluminium Cantilever Stairwell Tower provides complete height safety in and around that ‘hard to reach’ stairwell area for both first and second fix tradesman such as joiners, plasterers and decorators.
The tower was designed using detailed input from all concerned including the Site Management team, Scaffold Management, Health & Safety advisors and also the leading UK based aluminium manufacturer.
Designed to simply cantilever over the existing balustrading on upper attic level stairwells the tower is easily erected then wheeled into position over the stairwell. Guardrails and toe boards are then quickly fitted to provide complete safety for all the working trades. The tower can be supplied in 2 different types for either straight stair or kite winding stair configurations; having varying leg lengths that can quickly be changed over and adjusted to suit the desired change in level.
Here at George Roberts we treat all site access problems as a challenge; working closely with our client to design, engineer and deliver a bespoke safe access solution.
George Roberts has successfully supplied over 200 sets of the Aluminium Stairwell Access Tower to Taylor Wimpey sites all around the UK over the few years and are fully endorsed by site both their own Health & Safety team along with their independent site auditors.
